K30 Mercedes C111

Whilst sorting out my collection, I have come across a mint K30 Mercedes C111 with pop=up headlights and a battery compartment in the rear. I have a vague recollection of it being something special, and I seem to recall that the model was originally issued like this but, owing to too many problems with non-functioning electrics, very quickly had the working headlights feature removed.
Can anyone firm up any of the above?

Last time we discussed the the expert opinion was that only a small part of a run, tens of thousands not hundreds of thousands escaped the factory with the battery compartment installed to the design just not working as intended.Not common , havent found one yet but a few others here must have one or two.....
