What Souvenirs these would have made Nick! It is very surprising to me that with such an important event being hosted at home, Lesney did not commemorate a model to it. Much like the Coronation Coach, I think the model would have set the stage for many other promotionals that Lesney could have marketed. What could have been.........kwakers

What a good point Dick. In hindsight, it's hard to believe that Lesney didn't issue a promo. I'd have thought that the global appeal would have been hard to ignore. A London Bus or a coach with World Cup decals would have been nice :D

While Football reaches saturation levels on TV and Radio, (even without the World Cup!), lets not bring it to the forum, this is my escape from all Football, I like it here and don't want Football here, thank's.

As this is the lounge and there have been many topics that I don't like discussed here, I would say " if you don't like it then don't read it". Being in Germany and supporting England here is place where I might get unbiased comments about England's performance from Englishman, not Scots. I say please keep the thread going.

I love football and since my belowed Denmark is not in the WC I am a England fan. I know they always F%&K up and dont get far, but england is the mother of football and will one day repeat 66 I am sure.

So to have a thread in this forum is great. Please dont read if you dont like it. There are 100 of threads in this forum about stuff I dont care about, but I dont read them or comment them. :)

So lets talk football!!!

Hi all!
This thread is pretty cool! I think lots of members are watching the matches and keep their fingers crossed for their favorite team!
Yesterday I saw the match between England and Italy, too. And yes (in this game! :D ) I root for England! Chin up, chest out England!
Today's matches:

Switzerland vs. Ecuador
France vs. Honduras
Argentina vs. Bosnia

Good luck to all teams!
Enjoy a lazy soccer-sunday!

Greetings,
Linus

Earth to Motorman......Hello........Did you in fact view Nick's original Post U Tube Video?? The time and patience someone took to craft each of the countries' Bus models is just Fantastic! They are each a prize I would love to own and display in our collection. The fact that the subject of the new Post involved Soccer/ Football games now playing never really came to mind for me as it did you, only the missed opportunity by Lesney to issue a commemorative Bus in 1966, or in fact a few, to note the Games then being hosted at home. Your crabby Post changed the topic completely now away from our treasured Toys Nick had featured, but perhaps for the good my friend.........
I can't believe the U.S. has ousted tried and true Donovan, their token elder team mentor, but a foridable performing weapon in a last minute 'Pinch'.......With that decision, some of the flair of this years' games is lost for we Yanks. What are they thinking? Or NOT!..........kwakers
