29c Fire Pumper Query

Post by Idris »

I am gradually sorting my collection out and was looking at my 29c Fire Pumpers today.
One (raised door panels unfortunately) which I bought in the early 1980s is fitted with solid wheels (J27, J31, J32, J41), yet Mick's catalogue pages states that only hollow wheels were fitted. Given when it was bought, an axle reassignments seems unlikely. The box is the stadard RW box with the minute Superfast overprint in black, meaning that it is an early example.
Does anyone else have one?

Yes I have one - J5,J9,J13,J32 - uncommon wheels so not surprising it took time to find one

Thanks for taking the time to dig it out, Mick. Judging by the mould numbers, yours came from the same "batch" as mine.
