There are 3 to be found:

The rarest is the one for the MATCHBOX USA COLLECTORS CLUB from 1976.

In 1984 Matchbox released a wooden case with 6 models including this black Ford.

In 1996 (for the 40th anniversary of Models of Yesteryear) this version was released and 2 variations can be found for that regarding the baseplate text.

(Ford Model or Ford Model T)

Sorry my bad, must have misread the post. Thanks for the welcome George, I hope to post more when my comp is back up and running. Having to use my mobile phone is not that good.

I agree Tinman and i too share the sentiments of most other posters.
These YY's bring a lot a joy to collectors.Lesney had paid a lot of attention to detail where most manufacturers failed. There are some fantastic models in this range and i for one love these castings.

When I was a kid I hated Yesteryears but I now like them and I'm currently picking mint / unboxed early 70's examples for just £1 each from toyfairs.
I'm not a box collector so not too worried there. I do think it is a shame though that a Darracq wasn't made to display alongside the Spyker and a boxed set would have sold well, I'm sure.
I first came across Yesteryears around 1974 when I was a pump attendant at a Mobil garage. We were giving tokens away with every four gallons, collect so many tokens to exchange for a Yesteryear but of course I could get freebies. It made an interesting change from glasses or Blue Chip stamps. These I displayed in Mum and Dad's display cabinets but eventually all disappeared. So I'm currently picking up the odd ones here and there that I remember having.
Regarding silly prices, some of the hype should be placed squarely on a rip off company called "Mint and Boxed" that advertised towards the end of the 80's and ultimately caught a cold of their own making.

A little memory for you, although these are from the '60's.

Those are interesting and got to be worth something extra. I don't remember those boxes though as the early 70's promotion cars were in standard Yesteryear boxes. I do recall a card set though, but again a different set.
The stuff my Mum chucked out or gave to jumble sales

These Mobil boxes are now a hard set to find although the models are basically standard ones. If I remember rightly the promotion was so good they ran out of the Mobil box issue and had to ship in normal boxed models so these are what you may have seen.
