Vectis certainly do wonderful auction catalogues and have all the advantages of live internet bidding etc but boy they are not cheap for the seller!!

The standard charge for selling is 20% plus VAT (VAT is payable on the commission only and not the hammer price) and expect to pay a premium on top of that for the photographing and catalogueing of your collection if you want hard copy colour catalogues provided. Then expect to wait 6 - 8 weeks for the cheque to arrive.

Having said all that, Vectis are probably the most famous Toy auction House in the world and their track record at getting record sale prices is second to none, so it really is a balancing act.

If the day ever came were i felt the need to sell up to pay for some trivial worthless crap to keep the wife happy ( so help me God!!), I would more than likely choose Vectis to sell my chosen auction lots.

Stunning collection! I can understand how having too many models can create the urge to simplify the collection down to just toys you really really really like rather than being overwhelmed by the completist mentality

I have enjoyed your video a lot, such mint models and boxes are a Pleasure to enjoy! I can see it would be a very difficult decision to sell such examples, so envy you for having that strength. Thanks for giving us both an early warning, and such Great views of your massive collection. Cheers! kwakers :o :o :o

Certainly an outstanding collection of models, boxes, and blister packs. I have met Ralph a number of times over the years and he is a keen student of the brand, and moreover a nice man. I believe that this will be a noteworthy sale. - E

Hallo Ralph

Gruss Mathias

I think that Mathias' message to Ralph rates a translation. My German isn't perfect for sure but here's the gist of what was said: A real, real pity that you're beautiful collection is graduating to a separation state; when I think of the years-long effort you've taken to (acquire). All is in top condition with these beautiful boxes. It'll come to my fate much the same one day, or my son once I reach my demise, if it's in the stars. I only know that at Vectis my collection will be auctioned. But you're going to get a good price at auction, of that I'm sure. A beautiful video indeed with Pink Floyd just for enjoyment.
