Went to Sandown today and very busy it was too arrived at 8.45 and spent a good couple of hours looking around before I had the call from our Lord of the Manor Ghosty and was allowed an audience with him in the foyer, after a brief chat we went our separate ways to do some hunting.
Lots of desirable stuff of all makes, one vendor had a stunning selection of prepro and Brazilian s/f and regular models also some rarities including a blue #63c, #36c in turquoise, a cream cougar and another 7c the same as Nearlymints, drooling over had a second audience with the Lord Ghosty and was introduced to the RR and a fine beast she is too, I think Marmaduke must have been back at the manor house as he was nowhere to be seen but had provided refreshments for his master. Seriously though it was a pleasure to meet you Kevin and I hope to see you again
Finally I hope the photos do these rarities justice as I only had my phone and tried to take them through the plastic case

Re: Sandown
If they're all genuine, then that's an astounding display. (Actually, if only half of them are genuine, it's still an astounding display! ) Any idea who the dealer was?
Re: Sandown
Lots of interesting models there and i also would be very wary of them as all of them appear to be mint. I would be especially wary of any Brazilian models which were in mint condition. Just my opinion.
I would have loved to have got a close look at the blue SF #1 modrod, the red SF#22 Pontiac GP and the sickly green SF #68 Porsche amongst many others.
It would also have been interesting to know who the vendor was? Does anyone else on the Forum know?

Re: Sandown
no idea who he was , said it was his personal collection and was disposing of it to fund home improvements he named vectis and Graham (Rocketron) as some of his sources , these were the bulk of the 1/75 he had others included a large collection of airport coaches and freeway tankers
MM the red #22 was English with opening doors and silver detail to the front , did you notice the blue #33 just behind and to the right of the mod rod looked the same shade as #25 and was beautiful.
I hope these were genuine as it was an eye opener

Re: Sandown
Reg, the more i look the more i see, i missed that blue lambo on the first look!! and if i am not mistaken the first image has a colour trial RW #8 in a mustard yellow similar to the one Nick had a few years ago and sold. Then there is a black SF #3 Mercedes Ambulance a nice pale blue SF #5 Europa, a pale green SF #20 Marzal etc etc etc.
I have to say that if all these models are genuine pre pros, colour trials, Brazilians or what ever, then there is a small fortune in very rare SF's and RW's in those cabinets.
They would still need very close inspection before you would hand over a wad of cash.

Re: Sandown
Sorry to disappoint, but most of the models on show were copies/fakes that came from nick the greek (nik_stil), although the seller who will remain nameless for now was trying to pass them off as the real deal.
Graham (Rockertron) will second this as we had a lengthy chat on the subject after looking at several of the models.

As the saying goes, if it looks too good to be true..........
Re: Sandown
Nice to see somebody making good copies of the famous colour trial survivors and putting them all together- hopefully none were sold for silly money!
