ANOTHER BRAZILIAN SF#5

Post by motorman »

Well i have taken the plunge again and picked up another Brazilian SF #5 Lotus Europa. This one is in great condition and i love it in this Metallic Green colour.

I think the label residue shape on the bottom would suggest its a Roly Toys issue.

Hope you like.

Another nice clean example you have found Alex and if that is 'Label Residue' on the base, it appears to be a pre-76 issue (ROLY changed it's name around this time and replaced the paper labels with a plastic strip), or a very rare 1979 issue (black label used again for a short while), and that is a nice shade of green, proving how some colours suit different cars.

Very nice motorman, that metallic green paint reminds me of the ever usual Bulgarian issues I'm always coming across :)

I am so sorry motorman, I just stated the paint looks like the same to me

Lesney and MBX Intl. must have supplied both the ZF Manaus (Trol) and Mikro '67 factories with the same spray cans.. I guess! Doesn't apply to the Hungarian factory though. They paints are totally different.

However I have noticed the rivets look weird to me?

very nice Alex I wonder how many Brazilians get miss identified as prepro or colour trials as they have England bases

Interesting thought. Although the vibrancy of the Brazilian colours kind of sets them apart from English colour trials IMHO

I agree with "RacingFreak" on the rivets. They are more like the rivets on the later #69c Rolls-Royce Drop-Top with pale yellow baseplate.
