Good buy, kwaker these models always bring a lot of money in any conditionkwakers wrote:For the price of a good hot meal, I can give Tim's yellow wagon a loving home with us yanks in upstate N.Y. LOL
To answer your question directly Numi, the yellow 31 B in general is very hard to find, is very under rated in the difficulty of finding a good one, and command lots of cash when Mint (even without their tough box). Whatever color base, whether the clear or tinted windows or even the windowless variation, and whichever variation is more valuable matters little when so few are seen for sale in the course of a given year.
I used to concentrate on only dead mint Lesneys 40 years ago because they were all relatively new back then. Our searches made for enjoyable family memories that are still part of my life today. After I found Nick's site 5 years ago, he and other collectors here have changed my attitude a bit on waiting for only "The Best". I am now happy in settling for less than mint in collecting some variations. By doing that, I still have the fun of collecting, but still get to enjoy life and other family pursuits that are a bit more important. On the occasion that a better condition model of a given variation like this Wagon comes along at a realistic price, this one can be sold back into the MB collector community at cost, much as Tim does for us here. That upgrade may happen tomorrow, or a rare variation like the GPW version of this yellow Wagon can be on a 'Wanted' list for over 40 years as it has been on ours. If anyone has any spares of any yellow 31B Wagon variations, Please PM me. I am certainly open to purchasing or trading for them, even if they are 'beaters'. kwakers

I've only 1 yellow 31b. Not quite as rough as the one shown here but it too has been very loved. Clear windows and silver wheels on a maroon base. Probably ran about $10 bucks or so. Even though the conversion will get you a bit you still got a decent deal, especially since it seems you have an outstanding order already.
We all want to collect the best we can but most of us do have limitations, be it self imposed (like mine, for I am one giant cheapa$$ that does not collect thinking this is an investment but a hobby), or some other reason, most of us have a limitation somewhere. In my collection the rarity of the item is often in direct reflection of it's quality. As the rarity goes up, the quality goes down. Many of us with a limitation of some kind (and haven't been collecting for the past 50 years) have some items in our collection that would fit in with this.
I am pushing around 1000+ cars in my collection. If I could sell the whole lot for retail I could probably trade it for a minty reverse wrecker and a really nice case to keep it in, but where would the fun be in that?
