Here's another picture clue and it's very heavy, you couldn't lift it with one hand.

Looks like a shot-sleeve,that holds the molten metal used for the die casting, before it is pressed into the mould.
or perhaps the plunger for the shot-sleeve.

It looks like a compression roller. Don't know what it came off of, or if it's run in a pair.
It might be time to start my "Bucket List."
