Wolfie Ginsberg

Post by nickjones »

It is with great regret that I have to announce the passing of Wolfie Ginsberg yesterday 17/05/2014.
I am hoping the family will contact me with further details soon.
I'm sure I speak for all when I say goodbye to a giant in the world of Matchbox toy collecting, He leaves a void in our hobby and will be sorely missed by his fellow collectors.
I have passed on our respects to his family on behalf of the forum members.
Wolfie was 62.
Rest in peace Wolfie.

aw man this is sad...RIP Wolfie...thanks for sharing your knowledge with us i learned a lot from you
Please use a web hosting site (like photobucket) to store pictures so you can post them here, using attachments makes it hard to view the pictures when you have to scroll to see them. Seeing comparisons of models is hard to see with attachments too.

OMG I am truly shocked at this. I was only with him a few weeks ago just after the op and he really did look quite well all things considered. I got the chance to see some of his hidden away collection and felt quite privileged that he showed me some of it. I know he was ill but really really was not expecting this. May he rest in peace in Matchbox Heaven, god bless you Wolf man.

I too had no idea his latest struggles were this serious. I'm shocked and deeply saddened by this news. My thoughts go out to Gael and his family. Wolfie will be deeply missed.
It might be time to start my "Bucket List."

Very sad news. I had the pleasure of meeting Wolfie and it was a privilege. I hope there is a Matchbox heaven full of King Size for the great man and my thoughts are with his family and friends. RIP Wolfie.

Shocking news after we saw him back here with his writings since the last operation.
One of the realy great and most serious genuine Matchbox collectors in the world who did so much for the hobby.
A man who kept up collecting till the very end.
I am glad that I have met Wolfie several times at MICA conventions and at the Sandown fair.
Thank you Wolfie for a good collectorfriendship and what you did for the great hobby of collecting Matchbox.
Last week Wolfie was still posting here and I hope Nick will keep all Wolfie's information here alive.
