May I refere the right Honourable 'Alex of the Scottish isles', to a statement I made earlier on page 1, third posting down and he will see I put this forward to the House, only the other day! and my right Honourable friend has not read my statement properly, my Lord.

Sorry about that, I was watching a courtroom drama on TV while I was typing...yes I don't mind putting similar sections in their relevant places...'SF', 'KS', and 'MOY' models.

I have stated my views about this 'HTF' verses 'RARE' situation earlier and hope members don't take advantage of this section and post every 'Tom, Dick and Harry' type of model, it has to be self Policing, is that the right term!

Rt Hon Ghosty i realise you mentioned this before but i was hoping the Right Honourable Sir Nick Jones might consider attending this Parliamentary debate and consider adding a sticky in both the Superfast section and the Regular wheel section of the Forum to make it easier for us all to post appropriately. :D

Alex, if Nick does put a 'Holy Grail' Listing in the 'Superfast' section, you can re-post the 'Amber window' thingymajig and then delete it from the 'Regular Wheel' section, therefore tidying up the section and I will edit my posting mentioning your posting of that thingymajig in the 'Holy Grail' section, that looks like becoming 'Regular Wheel' models only...

...WOW! did I just type that, not sure I now understand it, oh well, somebody might.

you mentioned holy grail again...a holy grail may not be a rare model

example 1...im really looking desperately for X model...ive run across a couple but they were not in the best condition and i would rather have a c-9 or above model...so ill wait for it...its not rare its just one a person is in search of that might be hard to find or to costly and they are waiting to find one cheaper

example 2...my holy grail is the reverse color wrecker...but there is no way ill pay 10k for any toy car...so this model will have to be put on the highest pedestal for me and try to attain one day which will never happen

so you really need to spell out what exactly you are looking to do here...like i said...make a list of rare models...not someones personal holy grail srearch
Please use a web hosting site (like photobucket) to store pictures so you can post them here, using attachments makes it hard to view the pictures when you have to scroll to see them. Seeing comparisons of models is hard to see with attachments too.

Hi ghosthunter,

When you say "transition models". Do you mean transitional RW? If that is the intended meaning. I would kindly point out that some of the transitional RW are some of the rarest and highly sought after.

Hello Dan, I stated earlier that it was not my 'Wish List' and I hope it does not become anyones 'Wish List' but there are likely to be models on here that a lot of us would like to own (that reverse colour Dodge Wrecker), it is a place where we can see very rare models that we have no hope in hell of ever buying for our own collections.

Your two examples are appropiate for a lot of us here on the forum and I would not put any so called 'Holy Grail' models in with that first example.
Your second example is clearly for 'Holy Grail' models and as you said, "10k for a toy" is beyond most of us here, so this is where you can come and see one, as a picture (if I or someone has posted a picture of one), so 'Hard To Find' models are really not included, they can be seen elsewhere on the forum.

Now, how to decide what is 'HTF' and what is 'Very Rare' (Holy Grail), is always open to debate, but I think there are enough informed members on the forum who can tell what is what and this brings me to a point I was going to post seperately, but will include here.

Apart from the many 'Informed' members, who is the overall expert that has brought all this together in the first place...Nick Jones...and if anyone has the right to decide what is 'HTF' and 'Very Rare' it should be Nick and I hope Nick can look into this section on a regular basis (Yes I know how much work he does already, and how busy he is, but it is only a click away), and he can say "yes" or "no" to the models posted.

As for members posting pictures of models, again, ask someone on the forum, who can say "yes" that is a very rare model, post it into the 'Holy Grail' section, or "no" they are just hard to find, and several members on the forum have an example.

I personally would not post a picture of my 'Long Seat' #69 Rolls-Royce drop-top into this section here, despite how hard it is to find another example, but if I had a blue #24 Rolls-Royce saloon, I would post it here.

Hello Jeff, No, I would not put 'Transition' models in this section, they are well covered in their relevant section(s), and again, similar to "Dan's" posting above, we probably have different views on what constitutes a 'Transition' model.

As I see it, a regular wheel model coming towards the end of it's production period, may have the wrong wheels fitted just to complete the run (from grey wheels to silver-grey), to me this is an acceptable OOPS! from Lesney, but not for this section.

A regular wheel model matching the catalogued specification of colour and wheel type, but with a new design of wheel, not seen before but then appears on the following season's models, is a 'Transition' model, but not for this section.

A regular wheel model not matching the catalogued specification of colour like the interior or main body colours, due to a shortage of the right coloured components, coming from the very start of production (the #45 Vauxhall Victor), is as far as most collectors are concerned, very rare and is for this section.

Thank's for bringing this up for comment, others will have different views, but that is how I see it and how I approach my own collection.

So based on your criteria, none of these models would meet the standard of Holy Grail. Up to and including the GW 25c. Different wheels.
Man, am I stupid. No wonder I can't get in to Club 33. But just for grins. Would any one else consider the pictured models pedestrian?

No pictures unless taken with a Leica.

Since the Rolls was mentioned. The silver wheel version was overpainted (still has a bit of black everywhere) and set me back 50 cents. The pink Refeshments canteen came from the same seller. It set me back almost $4.00!
