If you paid 25 dollars postage and the package says it was only 5 dollars, the confront the seller with the rip off and demand some money back. If they refuse, leave a negative feedback and launch a complaint with ebay.
Can you complain after you've left feedback? I had the idea that by leaving feedback you were no longer able to raise any kind of dispute.
There's more information on this link about feedback revision generally: http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/feedback/f ... -faqs.html

I'm not positive, but I thought you were given 45 days from the payment date to open a dispute, regardless of feedback. Afterall, many things can be ok when they are received, only for them to prove faulty within a short space of time.

There are a lot of great sellers with good postage rates. I have found that ebay has a terrible postage calculator though. Great sellers will make a quote, and send you a rebate if the postage cost is less. On the other hand, if they have quoted too low, I offer to send them the difference as well. Makes for good relations with sellers, and yo never know if they are going to have the item you have bee hunting for up for sale next week!

I wish I was selling to you  I've never had anyone offer to pay when I've underestimated the postage!
I mostly sell on a site called etsy and if I didn't post to the US and Canada I'd be as well packing it in. Etsy has a system where you quote a postage price for the item, and another price if it is in with something else. This makes sense from a weight point of view, the only problem I have is when I sell an order of maybe 5 items which have a total value of £20 plus. 20 quid is my 'cut off' point - above that and I send with some kind of tracking, usually at my own expense. Below that and if it goes missing I refund out of my own pocket. If I applied tracking to every item I'd lose a lot of sales so reckon it's best to take the risk - it happens maybe 3 times a year. I would never ask a buyer to make up a shortfall as that would be like expecting them to pay for my mistake. I always refund overcharges and very rarely get thanked for it.

From a buyers point of view I'm sick of ebay sellers profiting on postage and have no hesitation in marking them down for it. There may be a few who do it through laziness, but I reckon most of them know fine what they are doing so don't even give them the opportunity to make it right, I'd rather hammer their feedback.

I'm not sure I would even know if someone refunded me anything, so maybe that's a possibility in some cases? Not trying to defend the indefensible. There definitely are a few jerks out there who have no sense of proper manners.

As a buyer I won't leave feedback until I have the item in my hot little hand and am satisfied it is the item I bought and all is well with the sale. To be fair, I have very rarely had any problems with the sellers I have dealt with.

Paypal always advises me when I get money in my account. Then I send a thank you note to the seller. Common courtesy seems uncommon these days.

...Like someone said when you have given someone back a bit of excess postage money through Paypal it would be nice to get a little thank you but that very rarely happens so I got into the habit of letting them know in my feedback to them.Something like "Great buyer paid straight away. Excess postage returned thank you again"..Dont get me wrong on this I really dont like blowing my own trumpet but sometimes you have to and it just gives a nudge to the buyer he or she has been given a decent deal..
Heres the man with the bargains.Always open to offers from this sites members..http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/misterpop/m.h ... m=&_ipg=25
