MB13 Baja Buggy Base differences

Post by nearlymint »

Just for info, not sure where it changes in production but my prepro has the thin base and I have one standard model with the thin base but that has the cat label.(Both have no rear interior braces)
All of the rest I have had (30) have had the thicker base.

Since the louvres have now cropped up, can someone please remind me which is the rare one? Is it the 12 or 13 louvre variant (or is this just a different between the two tools)?

It doesn't sound as though they are particularly rare then. (At this stage, my guess would be a detail difference between the two tools.)

The 12 louvre casting is not particularly rare, but it is an early issue only made in the first year of production approximately (1971/72). To my knowledge it is only found in combination with black exhausts. It is however found both without and with the engine brace.
