Top caravan looks like a very badly faded blue unit because blue shows where underside visible through the windows - I have a Corgi Rambler which has tan seats when viewed from above and blue when viewed from below! 2nd one does indeed look like real yellow plastic, trials were done, we have seen photos from the time when deciding which colour should replace yellow on 23c

I agree with Mick. (Gosh! That's twice this year! ). The top one is a sunfade, but the second one has all the looks of being a genuine colour variation. (This is the second one we've seen on the Forum, Numi having found a green-interiored example a while back.)

Very nice find, later type interior. Never seen that colour before, have you compared it to the standard one. J

a few days after the auction i was looking over the pic and noticed the blueish areas...i was then like...maybe it was good to not have bought this...then i saw the one i have and thought...what are the chances of another faded one...but my curiosity got me...lucky for me this is a solid tan/light brown/mustardy yellow...dont know what color to call itSMS88 wrote:Top caravan looks like a very badly faded blue unit because blue shows where underside visible through the windows - I have a Corgi Rambler which has tan seats when viewed from above and blue when viewed from below! 2nd one does indeed look like real yellow plastic, trials were done, we have seen photos from the time when deciding which colour should replace yellow on 23c
but how did the sun fade or turn the blue into a tanish color...is it something with the mix of the plastic...was the mix of the one i have...get a mix of more color that would turn it tanish?
nice...you are starting a trend with Mick!Idris wrote:I agree with Mick. (Gosh! That's twice this year! ). Re: #23d Trailer Caravan with Tan Interior.
I purchased one with a very similar interior colour at Brentwood last Saturday. It is perhaps a slightly darker colour; one might call it light olive (a bit lighter on the bottom). The colour of the roof on that model is a very dark cream, almost light brown, while the body colour is the standard pink.
I have hardly any doubt that this is a sunfade, not least because there were some other obvious sunfades on that same table. I purchased it because it seemed interesting enough and the price was low. (The seller agreed with me that it is a sunfade.)

are you saying mine is sunfade?...the tip of the tow extension is broken off and it is the same color in the middle of the plastic...if it was sunf fade shouldnt it be blue-ish inside?

Re: #23d Trailer Caravan with Tan Interior.
Here are pictures of the one I have found:
The roof on the right hand side compared with a normal one on the left and another slightly faded one in the middle:
The interior compared with a normal one:
I am sure that mine is a sunfade mainly because there were others on that same table and because the interior and roof have both been affected. If this were a genuine factory-made variation, it would be very unlikely to get two separate components in unusual colours on the same model.
(BTW no idea about the significance of the black spot on the bottom of the tow hitch. It will not come off just with water and soap, and I do not want to try anything stronger.)
I will not pass judgement on other examples, as I simply do not know for sure. Everyone is free to judge for him/herself!

Very interesting photographs, Christian. However, Brad's find is so very uniform in colour (compare his interior's underside to your sunfaded example's) that I struggle to see how it can be anything other than genuine. However I do admit that the colours of Brad's find and your faded interior are similar and that warrants further investigation.
Back in the early days of the Lefora forum, we had a similar discussion regarding the colour of a plastic component on a 44c Refrigerator Truck. That was resolved by examining the colour of the plastic beneath the surface and, IIRC, the owner drilled into it to reveal normal grey plastic. Obviously, with such a thin component as this, we can't expect Brad to make a hole in it or snap a piece off, but perhaps a simple scratch test with e.g. a pin would provide some certainty regarding the colour of his interior's interior?

Re: #23d Trailer Caravan with Tan Interior.
Maybe Dans interior was orginally white, looking at christians roof photos I find it quite amazing.
I have some unusual ones but none like that yet.
Thanks for adding this in Christian.
