Been busy this past month!

Post by hydra427 »

Have been quite busy searching the internet and Ebay for more Kings & Majors. Some of this month's highlights.

Motorman, Thank You as always for the kind words. I take a lot of pride in the hobby and want to represent it well. Although I will never amass the numbers that some collectors have I want mine to represent the quality and detail that was "Lesney Matchbox".

It's all in the lighting and you appear to have got it spot on mate with very little shaded areas or flash back to be seen. I am currently using a Samsung Galaxy phone for all my images but come next month i will be investing in a new camera as my old one died a few months back. Can i ask how you are lighting your images and are you using any flash, can you also confirm what camera you are using?

I also try to take the best images i can for the forum as it makes the whole forum experience so much better for all to see and comment upon.

Alex,

I recommend lots of natural light (which you might lack in Glasgow! :D ), no flash and a macro setting. I like to use a white background, but that's me. If natural light is not conveniently available in good enough quality (e.g. on a drizzly day like today here, which is when I might find time to photograph toys), then I go to our bathroom of all places, as it is the only room in our house that has LED lighting - I find that is the closest to a natural light - nice clean white light.

Cheers,
Gavin
