Interesting Reg,

Obviously this isn't the standard gun you expect to see on an SF#38

It is also a different colour to the rest of the mainframe for the gun............I would suggest therefore that this has been reassigned from another non matchbox model of some sort or it's a rare prepro mock up.

Wow!! I seemed to have covered all bases, so i guess my reply is of no help whatsoever!! :D

I'll get my coat!!!!!!

Actually Reg, the more i think about it, the gun looks very similar to the gun you find on the SF#54 Military Personel Carrier. I dont have an example in my collection to do a detailed comparison with yours but it looks very similar. Just a thought. :)

I don't know about pre production but try non production, certainly looks like the gun is from something else. I think you would have to fold the windscreen down when firing it!!

Maybe that's how they made the cutout for the Standard gun

You have twisted my arm Fixer with your reply!! Definitely a very rear pre-production model. I had always thought cut out in the top of the windscreen was a cost saving measure!! I guess if Lesney had made it a fraction deeper they might not have been bankrupt by 1982.

Cheers Steve
