10c - Foden sugar container

I have as code 14 but with large ejector ring.

I have 2 with a 3mm brace but a hole in the base. 1 has hatch 2 and 1 has hatch 3. Both have BPW.
I know pictures are needed, I suck at picture taking but if nobody else can find one I will do what I can to get them posted.

During the five years of production, this one had to be made in the millions with tweaks often being performed to the tooling. There are so many survivors that I often find them grouped together in lots with as many at ten of them together.

It used to be thought that multiple minor variation modifications were performed at the same time. The evidence now tells us that nearly every small tweak was done and then a run of models would be cast to measure the performance. Modify and cast then modify and cast again and so on until they were pleased with the result. If another problem surfaced later on, more modifications would follow.

This is so true for many Lesney originated models and as "Tinman" says...there is more evidence cropping up to confirm this is what was happening.

This is nice though. It means that just about every one of this beautiful casting I come across is a new variation and therefore a keeper. One can never have enough Foden Sugar Containers!
