Yes they do look original, but to be certain you really need to compare them some that are still on the sprue. The Lesney dogs all have different sized and shape of bases so they look ok to me.

Dave, I would hold off mate, and get a nice #50 with original dogs on their original sprue. They are out there, just be patient.

The same applies to the transitional SF variant!

The reproduction dogs are hard to spot (when placed in the truck like this).
It might be time to start my "Bucket List."

why is this model so well liked?

it commands a high price when its complete..and then with an F type box its very pricey...i like it...its a cool model...but its in high demand!
Please use a web hosting site (like photobucket) to store pictures so you can post them here, using attachments makes it hard to view the pictures when you have to scroll to see them. Seeing comparisons of models is hard to see with attachments too.

Hi Dan, who knows why these fetches big money  I like the model as well and have one but only have 2 of the dogs and no box every time a box come up it goes for more than I will pay I guess like Alex said I need to be patient...Sometimes I don't have much of that

Hi Mike/Nico, I looked at the other post. Thanks for the tip ;) And like Tinman said there hard to spot the repros...
