Hello Dellamotherduck, welcome to the forum, you have just made a load of new friends!

CODE 1, models are entirely made in the factory with certain colours and any labels.
CODE 2, models are made by the factory but they have given permission for another company to decorate the model with special labels or trim.
CODE 3, models are decorated with new colours , labels and or trim by private owners without any permission from the factory who originally made the model.

This is the basic 'Three Code' system used by many collectors, but more codes exist for even more model variations, all done without factory permission.

Yes it could, but because this particular 'Jeep' model does not appear on Nick's Code listing, I did not make that distinction.

ah ok so I have a matchbox car here what has most of its paint missing and is down to almost bair metal... so if i was to repaint it in custom collors could it still be classed as a collectable and maybe be worth the same or more as the car it is now with the metal half missing...?

Its a matchbox 'superfast' porsche turbo c1978
(its the blue one with the porsche logo on the bonnet ...)
