Hugh, you could try dragging the image to your desktop, although this doesn't always work.

Hugh try opening up the image on the e bay mail then right click on the larger image "save as" decided what folder to save it to and it should work. I have tried it on a recent ebay mail image i received and it works fine.

Hello Idris,

For a simple way to save a picture as part of an internet E-Mail or E-Mail from a friend, once it is displayed on your screen, just hit the 'PRINT SCREEN' Key towards the top right of your keyboard. It is usually the 3rd or 4th key along from the right and the 'Print Screen' is often shortened to show as...Prt Sc.

Once youv'e done that, you open the 'PAINT' programme and click on 'Edit' and a menu will drop down, just click on 'Paste' and it will become clear what you have to do next. Give us a shout if you muck it all up...

Thank you everyone for all the well-intentioned advice.
1) Right clicking and "saving as" works for the postage stamp sized image, but it is low definition.
2) Right clicking and "saving as" does not work for the full size image. The saved item is the webpage.
3) I therefore think that the only solution is Ghosty's proposal of carrying out a "Print Screen" and cropping the result in Paint.
I'm just surprised that the image is protected against copying.

(Actually, this is all a bit academic, because George has already posted the picture in a new thread.)

In general, pictures sent with an E-MAIL are attached to the e-mail base code and don't always have the correct '.exe' (extension) to allow the attachment to be saved as a file we see as a picture. The small image you see in an 'E-BAY' post, is part of the initial base code to create the whole page, so yes you can always save the little image, it has been embedded correctly within the code used to create that page. So if you are trying to save a picture sent to your PC as an E-MAIL, it is not always possible to save it as a seperate file (picture).
