Slough Toyfair

Post by johnboy »

I went to Slough toyfair this morning and it was good to see Bob, but I missed Ghosthunter. I went in early and it was quite sedate but it got quite busy towards lunchtime. Anyway, I managed to pick up some bargains for the princely sum of £18. £12 for the Daimler bus boxed, £1 for the spw EverReady truck (I felt like a shoplifter at this point!) and £5 for the remaining 6 including a couple of harder to finds.

Hi John, I was also at the fair this morning about 10:30. Did see Bob, Ghosthunter and Nick but must have walked pass you. Picked up most of this for £15.00 apart from the 35 which I paid a bit extra for. Pleased with a couple of the finds today.
Also got the sea green base canteen off Nick(swap) which I am very happy with.
Do like the red vw John, nice to pick them up. the Heinz bus looks great.J

Hi Jason, sorry I missed you all, we really should introduce a VBD badge :D Glad you got some nice bits. Yes, I couldn't ignore the Heinz bus, it was only pennies.

Wow, nice finds guys, why don't we have such toyfairs here

I'd be very grateful if you guys will be able to find a Matchbox Rover 3500 or two when you're going on the next toyfair event :P

Jason,

That SF35a is a great find and very rare. All you need now is the even rarer "FLAME PROOF WOOL" promotional box and you have a very valuable model.

What condition is it in?......looks pretty good in the photo.

I quickly made this sticky label before I went to the Slough, (Windsor), toy fair and Nick found me. The bottom coloured version could be made easily and worn at toy fairs.

Any other badge ideas are welcome, don't just accept mine.

Hi Ghosty,

I think you could be on to something.

We must go to many auctions and toyfairs and walk past members of this forum without realising.

A means of identifying a fellow forum person could be a good idea. Maybe Nick should start to produce a range of VBD Forum Merchandise, T shirts, Sweatshirts, Baseball Caps etc...............just a thought.

What do you think Nick?
