6a Quarry Truck

Following some good advice from Idris and Yellowfoden in another thread I've just bought a copy of Maurice Hammond's 'Lesney Matchbox 1-75 Series Diecasts' book. Having a quick scan through it between household duties I noticed 2 entries for the 6a Quarry truck, the second of which states that it was enlarged slightly in 1958 and classifying the second one as 6aa. There is no mention of this either in my '40 years' book or on Nick's site. Could someone clarify?

Hammond contains a number of erroneous entries. I understand that they were based on changes in the scales reoprted in the pocket catalogues. Hence, if the same model had different scales given in two consecutive years, Hammond catalogued it as two separate models. (Please remember that the book was written back in 1971 when there was precious little reference material avaialble in the UK.)
