A third one has surfaced:
Hi Nick,
My name is Ali Sxxxxxxx and firstly I would like to express my thanks and gratitude to you for building such a fabulous site for all of us to enjoy and learn about our hobbies. I greatly appreciate the opportunity that you have provided.
I am writing to you because the last time that I was visiting your site, I saw a hot topic about the Matchbox #46 2-line Green Color Pickford Van. I do have this model which I acquired 30 years ago from a prominent collector from San Diego in California. Since then I have seen two other examples. I also have 3 Blue color 2-line vans in my collection. I am not a member of your community, but I will be happy to share some pictures of this variation with fellow collectors.
Please let me know if you are interested. I could send you some pictures to share with your members. Also I could send the pictures to someone located in the US and let him publish them for sharing. If my recollection is correct, I might have met Mr. Kwaker some years ago in one of the Matchbox conventions in New Jersey, and I could send the pictures to him. I am not sure if he remembers me.
Here is my cell phone number (626) 660-xxxx. You are welcome to give my phone number to him, and if he calls me, I can arrange to give him the information about this piece.
Again let me extend my thanks for all your work establishing and running your fabulous site.

It would be useful if we could have the variation code as well (if not immediately apparent from the photographs).
Re: 46b Pickfords 2 line in green.
Sorry to hijack the hijacked thread: just checking mine again and I have a green type two casting without bumper, 3 line decal, 9x36 bpw but with trim to the grille, bumper and headlights which isn't listed also. Can I add that to the list for members to check as well.kwakers wrote: While everyone is looking at their Pickfords, Please check for a green 3 line with later 10X36 BPW and the type A trim that included the silver headlights. Both Nick and Stannard do not have this one listed, but I have had this variation for many years now. (Sorry SCM, this is not to steal your thread, but to show you an example of how we sometimes can add to Nick's listings while we are discussing your particular odd Moving Van and are busy looking all ours over). kwakers

I bought a 2 line green one a few years ago, but it turned out to be a fake. The person that sold it to me had cut out the center part of the decal. Didn't pay much for it so no big deal,

Re: 46b Pickfords 2 line in green.
After not having seen him for a couple of years, I have met Ali again at last year's Albuquerque Matchbox Gathering.
He's one of the nicest guys you can imagine, and he has an outstanding collection of Regular Wheels (judged by the pictures he showed me).
I'm not sure if he will be back this year - but if yes, and he would bring the model in question, I could take all necessary pictures.
But it is still a long time to go until July, so maybe we'll get some decent pictures in a shorter time!

For kwakers and John. I have both of the models that you mention. 10x36 and 9x36 with A-type trim. I'm certain more will surface.johnboy wrote:Sorry to hijack the hijacked thread: just checking mine again and I have a green type two casting without bumper, 3 line decal, 9x36 bpw but with trim to the grille, bumper and headlights which isn't listed also. Love the Pickfords. Sorry, no 2-line.
Ali's story is interesting in that it puts his 2-line very near the time that Mick mentions the sale of the extra decals.

Re: 46b Pickfords 2 line in green.
I (and everyone else here I am sure,) would very much like to invite Ali to become part of our community on the Forum! This actually is my first online Matchbox Experience Ali, and boy has it made our collection grow! My 'Want List' has now become the size of the New York City telephone book (If they still print one....LOL). kwakers is not an online person at all, with no Facebook, Twitter, Rasberrys, or any of the new electronic gizmos the kids are into. That being said, Nick's invitation to this Forum when it was being formed and participating on it has been the highlight of my Lesney collecting career. The early Clubs were also Great, but the instant communication here is something we never imagined just 30 years ago. There are a mixed group of serious collectors here with knowledge and experience I never would have thought possible to gather together in today's world.
Your offer to send me pictures is Great Ali, but they should actually go to my friend Tinman Joe in order to be shared properly on the Forum. Joe is light years ahead of me in handling and enhancing online photos, while I am just as I look in person, a 'Cave Man' LOL. Ali has met me in one of my excursions out of my 'Cave', so I am sure I probably talked at length, (When do I Not?) about Nick's Great site and this Forum. Nick has my info Ali, but dream up your Forum name and say hello to us here tomorrow. You will love it as much as I have.......Dick

Re: 46b Pickfords 2 line in green.
Thanks for checking Jeff and Dave. I wasn't sure why this was missing from the table, but I found my notes that say it was unlisted in Stannards. This is an older picture of mine, but not a great photo. What we need now is for Dick to get his camera out for the 10x36gpwcollector wrote:I was checking my 46Bs and I also have one like John...B-casting, A-type trim and 9X36 BPWjohnboy wrote:Sorry to hijack the hijacked thread: just checking mine again and I have a green type two casting without bumper, 3 line decal, 9x36 bpw but with trim to the grille, bumper and headlights which isn't listed also.
