I think the purple 22 Pontiac has to be one of the all time prettiest Matchbox toys. I really can't understand why it was deleted so quickly.

I agree Nick, it really is a beautiful model to look at.

It's a shame that we didn't get a few more colour variations when it was being produced.

motorman, I'm not sure if it's the deep purple (it looked like it in the listing) it may not. I don't have anything to compare it to I may have to buy another one. I also picked up a 36 W/box SF so that's the second one I have bought. And I never thought I would be collecting SF but these 2 are my favorite SF :D

Looks like you've taken the SF bait Dave!!

It's hard to tell with these #22's what shade you have. Yours does look a lighter Purple to mine but unless you have them sitting side by side it is not easy to tell.

Does your Opel have silver trim on the front? I think the Opel is such an under rated model, it is certainly one of my favourites. A great start to your Superfast adventure.

I have attached an image of my deep purple Pontiac.

Wow you're having a nice run, that 34a spw is another on my list. I have a long B box for 34a, but I already have a gpw model living in it :)

I saw a C box for 34a bring over $100 on ebay.

Thanks, fintail. I'd pay $130.00 or a bit more for a "Mint" C box if I could find one. I'll be on the hunt for one...so if anyone has one for sale let me know.

Thanks

Hi Dave,

That's a wonderful 22. It looks to perhaps be on the light side. Here's an outdoor shot that may or may not be of help. Like the 67vw, there's lots of color variation to be found in the purple.
