Re: 1e Mercedes Truck
I have compared several models of this variation and have found that the text on the base plate has variations also. Please compare the position of the "(A)"

Caveman kwakers Thanks you for the tip on zooming onto details Johnboy. My sons have never mentioned this feature to me when I asked them to help me. Yes, I am that helpless at my computer, I am not kidding at all. A new light has gone on inside my cave tonight........kwakers

Re: 1e Mercedes Truck
In checking Nick's listings today, I find there are 13 variations listed of this 1E Mercedes. The variation we discussed on the old Forum that Hardy found and pictured with the middle set of base crosshatching reversed from the outer two has not been added yet. I have found two of them at local Toy shows, and they both have the step above the bumper that was last produced, and they both also have the full tow guide. I believe we discussed the fact that this appeared to be a last short run base that was produced just before the Model was changed to Superfast. I believe Hardy still has a very nice picture of his for sale that can be added to Nick's site for clarity on this overlooked base type.
I have never found either of those mixed tow slots/ extended bumper variations Joe has pictured at Nick's site, very nice tough variation Brad.........kwakers
