Your car as a matching model

Post by Hans »

As I was writing my posts about the motorhomes in the 'Show us your real old cars' topic, I got the idea of showing my real cars as a scale model.
I do not collect just the 00 scale diecasts like Lesneys, but also the 1/43 scale models of my real cars, and I suppose many more collectors do so.
It's an ongoing process, as not all real cars have a matching model, but sometimes it's a matter of modifying an existing model to match the real car.
As far as my motorhomes sofar I just got the first two that I owned, or rather one and a half.
For the Peugeot J7 I took the Solido model and transformed it to look like the real thing, also on the interior.
For the the Ford Travelhome I took the Dinky Toys Ford Transit van, sawed it in half, and built the rear body out of plastic.
Obviously this one is not finished yet.
I hope some more people have similar projects and would like to show them here.
