You'll have to convince them that "one book" is just not enough Nick . At the very least a RW and SF book, perhaps a whole series of books :D
Publisher may not have thought, of "that". ;)

zBret i think the theme of these books is that it gives you a snap shot into the back ground and history of the subject matter that it is covering rather than a very detailed reference guide. That said i do like the idea of a an RW and and SF book.........Wait a minute i think i can hear some Booooing, Ah as i suspected its the Yesteryears boys having a moan in the corner, they want their own book as well!!

As good as it can be, it will only have to be a quick guide into the world of "Matchbox" and somewhere in the book it must mention the best website to go to, for more detailed information on "Matchbox".

It will be better to be a short sharp look at "Matchbox", instead of a 'do all encyclopedic' book and these 'Shire' books are ideal for just that, an introduction to the subject.

You have to leave collectors wanting more from a book, rather than giving them everything in one go. The 'Forty Years' book does just this, but on a bigger scale.

Good luck Nick, look forward to seeing it on-line and at book shops.

So. Osprey publishing liked my synopsis and gave me the go ahead to write the book, It will probably be published towards the end of next year!.
It will be a book about Lesney toys rather than a history of the company.
