Re: Finally, after 50 years

These RHD Mustangs are also being sold here in NZ. Ford has brought them into the Australasian market to fill the gap left by the demise of the FPV versions of the Aussie Falcons that ended production last year. The Mustangs are selling well here and make the competing HSV offerings from Holden look...

I'm sure you're aware that there are Brazilian versions of some of the Modell castings as well.

Cheers,

Re: My latest news

Hi Stephan, Thanks for the extra shot - the detailing of the running gear on the base is another sign of quality. Thanks also for confirming my hunch that the "PS" figure denotes Horsepower! Yes, it is a shame this range was not continued, but I am also a fan of the Piccolo range which is ...

Re: Superfast Casting # 16

Hi Reg, Thanks for pointing this out - I'd never noticed before, and have one of each (nice one!). I agree that the number was added later, as it is on a raised panel, while the plain "Pontiac" is flush to the base. My memory of the Macau castings is that the "Pontiac" is on a ra...

Re: 1A Road Roller - Curved Canopy

Hi Gavin, I can't recall any NZ auctions in the last 2/3 years (keep constant Google search going but no hits) and mostly mixed bag of toys rather than specifically die-cast. Nice find in the junk shop - they're fast disappearing. Like you, I always call in for a firckle around those & Op shops...

Re: My latest news

Love the Schuco Modell Audi - such beautifully made models and funny how they all have the real car's top speed cast on the base!

Re: Still ticking of the 'G' boxes

George, My "15" was a mere estimate, and clearly over-egging it! I went to check, and including the 5 "Regular" models which were always without new, I have just 10 out of around 105 - so less than 10% The other 5 I have without "New" are: 23 VW Camper 34 Formula 1 45 F...

Re: 1A Road Roller - Curved Canopy

Hi Pete, Lacey Scott & Knight (if that's the one in Bury St Edmunds) rang a bell - went to one of their auctions about 3 years ago when I went back to UK to visit my Mum. Got some nice items - nice to have the opportunity to inspect and handle models rather than just view on line. We don't have...

... as it was the last issue I would not have thought they were sent to New Zealand. George T. Why not? We see plenty of late-issue models here in NZ, including from this early '60s period. I think like most other markets, there was a reasonably constant flow of models to NZ from quite early on in ...

Ghosty, the labels on the coach with the tinted windows look to be a completely different colour to the labels on the clear window coaches. blue, gray Cheers, Steve Matchboxkiwi Hi Steve, The difference is primarily because the clear window coaches have decals, whereas the later issues changed to l...
