Re: Dinky - all / most variations

Yes, you are right the blue Mk4 Zodiac is normally found with white overpainted back doors from the police version (page 2 of this thread). I know I have seen the post elsewhere about the gold Silver Cloud III painted red, but I seem to remember the odd thing about that one was it had the orange rat...

Re: Dinky - all / most variations

After looking for some time I finally managed to find an example of the pale blue Austin 1800 (171), which I believe was mainly sold in export markets. When it arrived, I was surprised to see the inside of the boot lid was in the more common colour of the metallic blue version. I know this variation...

Re: A quick guide to 25 Series Lorries.

Thanks for the tip Bob. Just in case anyone has any problems with this, I've uploaded the original pictures again below using Postimage. Hopefully the same won't happen to these in the near future :) https://i.postimg.cc/yYVyG0cd/S251.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/JhWnT5HY/S252.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/p...

Re: Dinky France #514 Alfa Romeo Giulia

The paintwork on your Alfa does not look too bad, you could try cutting it back to get rid of the colour stained parts and then touch in the worst chips and high spots. You would then still have a reasonably original model. Mine was in a similar condition to yours when I got it, although not perfect...

Re: Gerry Anderson vehicles

Very interesting FAB1 slide show; sadly I find the chronological detail changes on Dinky models quite fascinating. Have you produced any similar presentations for other Dinky RR models?

Re: Dinky France Citroen Currus Car De Police

I would definitely leave as is and would be happy to have it in my collection as it stands. Some interesting vehicles on your Flickr feed is the R16 yours? Looks in great condition. A friend of mine had one of these years ago and I remember the column shift was a bit tricky to master, but OK once yo...

Re: Dinky - all / most variations

Thanks for your comments, I will try and post a few more of the variations from my collection over the next few months. The Opel and the Rekord do have the same engine but what i can't remember is whether the engine was missing on the Rekord when it first arrived, I may have just replaced it with th...

Re: Dinky - all / most variations

Unfortunately not had much time recently to add to or photograph any more of my collection, although have now found all the colour versions of the Jaguar E-Type 131 model, the last one being metallic red and also added the Police (501) variation to my Citroen 530 set: https://i.postimg.cc/rsdsN8hJ/D...

Re: Find Of a Lifetime- 431 Guy Warrior Red and Green

Scott, a very interesting post and a great find in incredible condition. From the models you have it looks as if most of these could all have been available new in a toy shop at the same time (allowing for some old stock), in the early 1960s. It looks like the original owner only collected Dinky's f...
