Re: 40b Leyland Royal Tiger Coach

My latest 40B’s. I admittedly came late to the conversation but George provides good discussion points and pictures. On another theme regarding the 40 B coach I am wondering if collectors have found that the 9 x 20 black plastic wheel type is harder than the 9 x 36 fine gray wheels. https://i.postim...

Re: The Very Best of 2018

Here's an entry from the USA. The 22B in Turquoise and Cream with 20 tread GPW's and Crimped Axles. Hope that my editing skills (admittedly weak) haven't caused too much anguish among the admins. Regards!

Re: Vectis lots

So, regarding Ali's collection - it's my understanding from him directly that this was a "thinning out" of many variations that he'd acquired over the years but he is not leaving the hobby. This sale did not represent the core of his collection.

Re: Caravans

I did once come across 2 Gift Sets that contained 23B’s in Metallic Lime Green. They were ex shop stock and appeared not to be handled much in 40 years at the time. I think that in terms of rarity the 23D with the small GPW’s as others have opined is at the top.

Re: Matchbox Lesney Ford prefect pale blue original.......??

I’m concerned about that flattened, splayed out rear rivet. It shows no traces of blue paint in the core. I’m also wondering what is up with the rear bumper silver finish. It seems excessive. The jury is still out in my opinion on the authenticity of a blue Prefect so long after GPW’s came along.

Re: Kwackers - sad news

Good Morning VDB Members; I learned last night of the sudden and untimely passing of Dick Kwak. I extend my sympathy and condolences to his family and friends. What a heavy blow to the hobby. While we are both native New Yorkers, ironically the only times that I met Dick was at a number of Pennsylva...

Re: 22b Cresta

I commend you on the great find! As for the right box to pair with the Turquoise and Cream 22B, I agree that the B5 is the best pairing.
