I've seen this before when I was a kid. The whole bus was dropped in a glass of turpentine. Turpentine causes the plastic to fade and crack. It also causes the windshields to craze. I might have a couple of samples running around

Re: How many people post here?
I don't post on this site a lot. I probably haven't posted in a couple of years. I read through every other day, but I don't post. I read everything on this thread several times (yay for cataract surgery, welcome back to the land of sight) and I am asking myself why I am not posting here more. Here ...

Re: Matchbox Gathering Question
Next year would be a good year to go. I have attended 13 of the 14 gatherings. I have met a lot of great people and have increased my Matchbox knowledge exponentially. I am one of the few who was at the first gathering back in the old days. It was really just some collectors meeting back then. It ha...

Re: how many on your list?
I am still looking for a 9B, 10A, and 27B in any condition to complete regular wheels castings. I am now slowly tracking down boxed models as they become affordable for early regular wheels just to upgrade. I possess one of every casting for Lesney Superfast. I am chasing down a couple of superfast ...

Re: Definition of Transitionals
I am lenient with my definition of transitional. I figured the definition was a model that transitioned from Regular to Superfast. I am not as concerned with color. The #1 Mercedes Truck has a regular wheel and a Superfast version thus transitional. I then also decided that any model in a 1969 catal...

Re: Hillman Minx #43a
Interesting that the Green Hillman is usually found in the Netherlands. During the last thirty years or so I have found four green Hillmans in greater Denver. Any Hillman Minx is rare around these parts, but the odds are decent that if one is found it will be green. I have always assumed that some g...

Re: Matchbox Bus Sort out
So. I just finished putting my Londoners together is a case. I am hoping to photograph soon. I am thinking I have a pretty solid Londoner collection with 50-60 Lesney Londoner variations and a few code three buses. Then Jim shows up with like 1400 Londoners and I realize I have a long way to go. Han...

Re: The Sale of 1971
The car in the illustration is actually a pretty good drawing of an AMX Javelin. Sorry, but I am not where I can post a picture. Matchbox did start making the #9 Javelin in 1972.
I think the #9 Javelin is a pretty model, but it took a lot of liberties versus the real car.
