Re: Triang Minic clockwork double decker bus 60M restoration

It's all relevant! I had an idea previously that I might buy up these very old models, restore and sell on, but now I realise I can't let go of my "babies" and there's probably not any money in my restorations anyway. I bought this on ebay for £32 + postage. Decals were £14. Paint and othe...

Re: Triang Minic clockwork double decker bus 60M restoration

Thanks. Yes! It's in pride of place on the mantelpiece. My mantra was "Get it done perfectly" but by the end it was just "Get it done." :)

Re: Triang Minic clockwork double decker bus 60M restoration

Thank you for your encouragement guys! Ah you spotted the "droopy" headlight... It's superfine Milliput, and actually very hard, but brittle, so it should hold up well if not touched or knocked, otherwise a further rebuild will be required. And that's right about dealing with tinplate; bec...

Triang Minic clockwork double decker bus 60M restoration

As a tinplate restoration I wasn't sure if this belongs in the restoration forum or the tinplate forum but here goes... The diecast wheels with red roof, cream and red upper deck and all red lower deck identify this bus as ( I believe) a Version II post-war (late 1940's?) 60M. As you'll see with the...

Unknown diecast double decker "restore" 30mm long!

My mother gave this to me some years ago and I finally got round to taking it apart and tidying it up a bit this week. It's a bit rich to call this a restoration; I just cleaned it and touched up some of the paint. What a super little bus! It was made as toy for a dolls house, so that's 1/12 of 1/12...

Re: Which Minic have I bought please?!

Thanks for all the help with this. As suggested I've posted the Before and After in the appropriate forum, but here it is as well. Hope that's ok. It was a lot of fun to do, and I'm very happy with the result thought that might be because I'm a beginner with low standards ;-) The video of the restor...

Teeny Toy 1940s/50 Cleveland of London Restoration

With help here, this very sad vehicle was identified as a Teeny Toy made by Cleveland Manufacturing Of London. It was made in the late 1940s it seems. There's very little about them online but it was claimed to be "the smallest precision clockwork toy in the world". The back was completely...

Re: Which Minic have I bought please?!

Thank you for your efforts, much appreciated! I'll do something creative but non permanent then. And as promised will show the result here, good or bad.
