Re: Looking for good reference books for Lesney Matchbox
I want to thank Rodger for his guide. It is very helpful for someone who is just looking for perhaps one of each issue, and not necessarily interested in looking for each and every variation. Or perhaps like myself, just the working vehicles or sports cars and not the sedans(I believe most of you ca...

Re: Die Cast MG models
The Hongwell is a 1/43 that I found in Exeter on another trip. The models that I remember from the earlier trip were 1/24 and much better quality. Probably Finecast. Looking at the link that Ghosty provided indicates that the early MG Finecast models are NLA.

Re: Die Cast MG models
Well, in any case, the one's that I am remembering were already assembled models, not kits. We did not go into the store. Perhaps someone had assembled an example of each of the kits for display purposes. Thanks for the input. Bob

Die Cast MG models
Perhaps it was in the mid '90's and my wife and I were touring the U.K. Difficult for me to remember when as we have made 6 or 7 trips. Anyway, I remember seeing some die cast MG models in a store front window. I'm pretty sure it was in Windsor as we were walking up the hill from the Eton Riverside ...

Re: Marty's Restorations
25 A Bedford Dunlop Van before.jpg Well, OK, here's one more, he said quite humbly. Sidebottom might say that this one should be left alone, and I might agree, except that this is not what I really started with. It had apparently been stepped on, and the front of the cab had been mashed down and ov...

Re: Marty's Restorations
I have about 25 Matchbox "a" series models from my childhood. Some were damaged and missing parts, and every time I looked at them I was sad that they were not in better shape. It was stumbling onto one of Marty's videos that I learned about the world of repro parts, decals, and stickers, ...

Re: Review of Replacement parts & decals (and sources)
That dab of yellow makes all the difference. I was having a devil of a time trying to match the brown on the 35a ERF horsebox. My daughter, the graphic designer, took one look and said to add some yellow. Came out great!

Re: Review of Replacement parts & decals (and sources)
Thanks for your help. I needed several other parts so I ordered a 19a driver as well. I am assuming he should be approximately the same color as the brown Land Rover driver.
I also wanted to report that Black Square has both the small 10mm and large 13mm Esso transfers.

Re: Review of Replacement parts & decals (and sources)
Thanks for the tip. I have actually ordered from Black Square previously, but had forgotten about the site. I was just about to order the door "Esso" label for the Scammel Heavy Wrecker King Size from Rick's Toy, which would have been the size of the small 10 mm "Esso" on the 11a...

Re: Review of Replacement parts & decals (and sources)
Looking for a 10mm or 13mm "Esso" transfer or label for the 11a Petrol Tanker. Seems that all the usual sites only carry the larger 11b version. Anyone know where I can obtain an 11a version?
Thanks for any help.
