Re: What glue? Husky Toy, attaching plastic base to metal bo
Been away for a bit... sorry about that. Went on holiday at the beginning of August, then a few things got in the way a bit and I'm ashamed to say there's been no progress on what should be a very quick job. Just tried a VHS screw - slightly too thick unfortunately, so I'll head to the nearest model...

Re: What glue? Husky Toy, attaching plastic base to metal bo
Once again, sorry for the slow response. I like the idea of the screws although I've not had any success in finding ones small enough yet. I'll be away from home for a bit shortly which means this will have to put on hold for a bit, but thanks all the same. I'll stick a photo up when it's done.

What glue? Husky Toy, attaching plastic base to metal body
While progress with the Guy is slow (whatever I said in a post about me having lots of time on my hands - forget it) I can be getting on with an altogether much simpler project. At a recent jumble sale I picked up Husky's Shelvoke & Drewry Refuse Van, which is in acceptable condition save for th...

Re: Please teach me how to repaint
Sorry it's taken me a few days to reply, but thanks very much to all of you and especially Malibu for his detailed help. I'm very pleased that the windscreen pillars can be sorted. Red would like nice although I'm not at a stage yet where I really want to do customs, and I'm not too worried about re...

Please teach me how to repaint
Having had some models sitting on my shelves in quite a terrible state for a considerable period of time, I thought it was about time I did something about it. That would either replacing them or restoring them, and restoration seems like much more fun. Some of the models are damaged, to some degree...

Re: Reapplying dried-out decals
Thanks for explaining that about the dark areas. I didn't realise the photos needed to be resized but that won't be a problem for me.

Re: Reapplying dried-out decals
Thanks Ghosthunter, that's turned out really nicely. Funny how the simplest solutions can often be the best. I don't know that I quite did it perfectly, but at least if the decals come off again I'll know what to do, and it still looks fine. I did notice, though, before I applied any glue that part ...

Reapplying dried-out decals
Hello all, not sure if I should be posting this here or in the Beginners' Corner, but it's a kind of restoration question, so here we are. I've been collecting vintage models for a few years now but have never attempted any restoration before, and I'm sure this is very basic but it's a new problem t...
