Re: 72 A Fordson tractor

Ghosthunter, that is very interesting about the tires. I have noticed that a significant number of these are missing them. Just knowing that it was choice that had to be made to make business sense and be profitable makes me OK with having a no tire piece because it reflects the reality of the situa...

Re: 72 A Fordson tractor

I'm in the state of Maine, USA. Yes, I see several on Ebay, but really high prices. Lots of them lost their tires, too, huh? It's a nice model, and because the 72B is from when I was 16, I have no interest in having it represent the slot because my collection is about the castings that marked my pla...

72 A Fordson tractor

This was a 7 year run, according to info I looked up. However, it is a very pricey piece, and even though I am willing to have the worst beater of all time just to fill this gap, they don't seem to be out there.

Why is this so HTF and desirable?

Re: how many on your list?

I am trying to get one of each of the 75 numbers but not A thru F, or anything that complete. I stopped playing with these when I was 11 (1961, when I got into plastic model cars) so am really mostly interested in A, B,and C releases. They include some that I still have from my childhood (my first c...

I caught on to this "sub-set" several years ago and have looked forward to seeing new ones each year...truth is I am attracted to Aqua vehicles which most of these are. The latest: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v238/poorboy/IMG_8645%202.jpg Here is a group shot of my set to date: http:...

Scarce models of RW 1-75

I am beginning to notice certain castings of early (a and b releases) are quite hard to find, and usually only return a handful of examples from a search or maybe a slightly larger quantity than a handful but with each one being very pricey. Two examples are 58a (BEA Coach) and 73a (Leyland Hippo). ...

Re: Hillman Minx #43a

A couple more...we used to take them out of the gravel driveway when done playing and scoop them into a shoebox...I can still hear the paint rattling off them.

Hillman Minx #43a

Since this is one of the 20 "holes" in my fledgling collection of RW 1-75, I chase lesser grade examples of it often. I have noticed that, 1) It usually is offered from the UK and, 2) It seems to have held its value well, there being very few (none yet in my several months of just trying t...
