Mine was missing half a handlebar. So for the repair, I drilled small hole and fashioned the missing half out of some copper wire. I used a very thin copper wire twisted around the main handlebar, to make the tiny hand grip casting mark. Then the whole thing was tinned in solder and a bit of filing ...

Thanks guys. Didn't know about about the square stock being available in in brass and aluminum or plastic for that matter. http://www.modelcarparts.com/categorie/parts in the Netherlands has the handlebars for the Teckno 442 as well as the windscreen which the model would have originally had. As you still have half a handlebar... myself, i would make a mold using some themo-plastic pellets, lay in a bit of copper wire ...
