Lesney Matchbox Accessory pack A5 Home Stores |
|
The Next Lesney Accessory pack was the Home Stores which was a die cast shop which was released in 1961, It had an off white or cream base and sides with a light green roof and opening front door, The windows were clear plastic and the card interior had a display of various tins and boxes etc with adverts for Heinz 57 and Oxo cubes, The front was topped with a red yellow & black "Home Stores" decal and it is in the decal fitting area that there were minor casting modifications made to the model. The model was introduced after Lesney had bought out Moko so the model came in a 'C' type box which made no mention of Moko. Lesney had intended to expand the range of shops with the next addition was to be a cafe but due to the poor sales of the shop the cafe was never issued and the shop was deleted in 1962 or 1963, Although it is collected it is not one of the most desirable models so prices are not too high for this one and unboxed playworn examples are quite cheap in comparison with the more desirable wheeled models. |
