Matchbox Superfast MB57-c Land Rover Fire Truck

Matchbox Superfast MB57-c Land Rover Fire Truck

The Land Rover Firetruck was converted to SuperFast wheels in 1970 and deleted from the range after a short run later in the same year.
It was packaged only in G boxes or copyright 1969 or 1970 USA or Canadian blisterpacks putting it in the top 5 of most hard to find G boxes.
There were no body casting variations although the tool for injection moulding the plastic baseplate continued on from regular wheels production, There are at least 6 different moldings for the baseplate and all are slightly different, All baseplate variations were made in equal numbers.
10.5x2mm 5 slot thin wheels were fitted to all Land Rovers by the factory although the easily removable plastic axle covers make wheel swaps quick & simple.
There were 2 variations of “Kent Fire Brigade“ stickers, those rectangular cut specifically for this casting and upside down T shaped labels with cut out top corners which were originally intended to be fitted to the K15 Merryweather Fire engine
