Matchbox Superfast MB4-d Dodge Stake Truck
|
|
The Dodge Stake truck had a short one year life in the SuperFast range. It was packaged in “G“ boxes as well as USA & Canada copyright 1969-71 blisterpacks.
The most common variation was made in standard Lesney construction yellow as per most of the regular wheels issues with a dark green stakes and either hollow 12.5mm thick spiro wheels or less commonly 4 slot wide 12.5mm truck wheels
It was painted in the same 3 shades of yellow as the Dodge cattletruck, with the bright shade of yellow as used on the 33 Muira being very hard to find.
The baseplate exists in equal quantities with a variation in the position of the word “Stake“.
The master model for this casting was retooled with only 2 axles but the same glazing and stakes for a much longer run in the 1-75 series as no 71 from 1976-84
